Getting Out of Your Head
May 25, 2018If you are an adult child from a dysfunctional home, whether the tool of dysfunction used was alcohol, emotional manipulation, guilt, shame or physical or sexual abuse--as an adult today, you may have a tough time getting out of your head.
Why? Why is it that so many of us who felt so pained as children have such a hard time getting ourselves involved with others in an intimate way?
So many of us struggle with intimacy today because our first experiences with love were so painful. We have been programmed and conditioned to fear being loved by others, as well as fear loving others. Our unconscious mind has us hard-wired to fear to let down our shield--the one that we can feel but cannot see--but that others can feel as well. The one that says, "It is safer to give than to expect to be given to," which of course keeps us spiritually and emotionally malnourished (unconsciously of course).
When an innocent child experiences emotional estrangement from the very beings that brought them into this world, there is a wide gap that is created within the naturally 'needing' being (the child). Each time that child feels himself or herself 'needing' to be touched, cradled, accepted, and loved--and instead experiences the emptiness of NOT having those very natural needs met--the gap within the child widens. As the gap widens, the connection to Self diminishes more over time.
The truth is--all beings come to this planet connected to Source. But when we are born to parents who have lost their own connection to Self--who is perhaps sadly rooted in the world of material and are intoxicated by the illusions of this superficial world--over time--we too--the innocent being once born connected to Source--begins to believe in illusions as well.
However, all is not lost!
The power to awaken is within us all!
We just need to learn how to get out of our heads long enough--to ask for help when we need it.
You see--some of us--are born to be tellers of truth and love it very much when students seek knowledge that helps them remember who they are!
If you suffer from the "I am stuck inside my head and I can't get out" syndrome--fear not--we've all been there.
First, you must learn to love your imperfect, learning Self--and as you learn to live in that vibration--eventually you draw to your teachers, friends, lovers and careers that mirror back to you the love you have finally found within.
Namaste Dear One...Namaste!!!!
ALL IS WELL!!!
Much love to you,
Lisa
